Rocket Stove

The Sa' Nima' Collaborative is a student-run organization by the University of Michigan's BLUElab. Along with our partner NGO, CasaSito, we focus on identifying and executing sustainable development solutions in rural Guatemala. The team conducts needs assessments in the home communities of various CasaSito-sponsored students in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. This 2024-2025 year, we aim to continue our Stoves project, and begin a new Water Collection project for the families. Additionally, the team also partners with a group of CasaSito-students in Panorama, Antigua to establish an engineering club for students to learn about the principles of socially-engaged design.

Limelight is MASA's newest single-stage sounding rocket from the 2023-2025 development year. It utilizes a pressure-fed kerolox system and features seam-welded stainless steel propellant tanks, advanced custom avionics, composite aerostructures, a regeneratively-cooled engine, and much more. It stands over 20' tall and is 13" in diameter, which will make it the largest student-built rocket in the United States.

Object Tracking and Counting Program

The output of the program is fairly simple, where multiple pop up windows will be displayed when the program is run to show each stage of the image processing, as seen in Figure 1 below. This includes, the video after having undergone stages of threshold, contours, convex hulls, and addition of image blobs.

Camera Mount

The SAC is the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition of over 1,700 students and faculty in New Mexico, United States. Part academic conference and part design-build-fly style competition, the Spaceport America Cup has something to offer students, faculty, industry representatives, and amateur aerospace enthusiasts alike. In 2024, MASA-D competed in the 30K Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) category.

Sign Language Translator

HackathonX was a 48-hour virtual competition, hosted by Strive Education and Crimson Education. As the largest student organised Hackathon in Southeast Asia, participants were tasked with using the p5.js library and widgets to create a program that aligned with one or more of the 3 SDGs (SDG9, SDG 11, and SDG 17).

Freespace

The theme of the 2021 Meteor Hackathon was 'Creating Impact', and teams no more than 5 were tasked to develop an impactful application using Meteor Framework in any field of interest that sparked their curiosity.
