The camera mount was designed using SolidWorks CAD software and 3D printed with PETG and PLA for the Michigan Aeronautical Science Association-Dearborn (MASA-D) as an electrical mount in project S.H.A.G.E.E's payload, the team's rocket for the 2024 Spaceport America Cup.
Spaceport America Cup 2024

The SAC is the world's largest intercollegiate rocketry competition of over 1,700 students and faculty in New Mexico, United States. Part academic conference and part design-build-fly style competition, the Spaceport America Cup has something to offer students, faculty, industry representatives, and amateur aerospace enthusiasts alike. In 2024, MASA-D competed in the 30K Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) category.
Project S.H.A.G.E.E

S.H.A.G.E.E stands for 'Supersonic High Altitude Gyroscopic Experiment Exploration', reflecting the team's payload experiment for the year.
Payload Subteam
As a payload mechanical engineer for the subteam, I was responsible for the design and manufacturing of the camera mount that hosted a Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 Wide and Zero 2 W. During the prototype phase, design iterations were 3D printed with PLA filament, and subsequently printed with PETG filament once the designed was finalised.
